Email message from Sandy and Ron H ....

Hi,

Just a few photos of what our life is like now...Whew!

We do feel lucky because the Old Red River is not up as high as last year (nearly 41 feet) although with Flood Stage of the Red River being 18 feet, Moderate Flood Stage is 25 feet and Major Flood Stage is 30 feet a 37 foot River Stage, where it is right now, is still very frightening to us!! We have built a very strong sandbag dike in the backyard which the National Guard walks and inspects frequently. Our sump pump in the lowest level of the house, which we have to man 24 hours a day, is keeping the river water from getting in to our house. We feel lucky to be keeping dry. The National Guard, The Coast Guard, The Air Guard. The Army Guard all have Presence here. It is a little unnerving to see the Humvies and Emergency Vehicles drive by the front of our house and hear the Planes flying overhead. We saw 2 big trucks taking photos that had NBC News - Burbank, CA printed on the side.

I had to include a Photo of Kira doing her favorite thing to do at this time - Walking! We are so lucky to have a happy part of our life :)
